A dreamer awoke

and although in earnest and good faith he spoke,

he was not understood - for the others, it seemed,

for all of their visions, had never once dreamed

and they thought it was odd

that he didn't seem to believe in God

as if it were normal for men to be sheep

as if they themselves were not soundly asleep
